Wednesday Support Group

What to expect: An opportunity for parents of trans, gender non-conforming, and two-spirit  children (of any age) to find connection and general support. Facilitated by a trans person and a parent (on a rotating basis). Note: This group is for parents/caregivers only, but there may be childcare available onsite or subsidies for childcare.

2nd Wednesday of the month (starting in OCT**)
7:00-9:00 pm
Commonwealth Place, Upside Teen Lounge
**SEPTEMBER session will be on Wednesday, September 20th, from 7:00-9:00pm. (Commonwealth Place closes the first 2 weeks of September, thus the difference). Details about childcare TBD.

*NEW* Sunday “Topics” Group

What to expect: Based on parent feedback, each month we will have an opportunity for families to connect over particular topics. At times this may include ‘closed’ sessions for families who are impacted by the particular topic of discussion (ex. experiences of families of trans-feminine youth and trans girls). We’re also lining up childcare volunteers who can hang out with your little ones in the library area.

4th Sunday of the month (starting in OCT)
1:30-3:30pm
Nellie McClung Library (*we have permission to put up signs to make the single stall bathrooms gender inclusive, and are working with the library to have official signage changed)
