Gender Spectacular! A drop-in for kids and families

A green banner that reads: Gender Spectacular, A drop-in for kids and families.

Updated Sept 2017

In addition to the parent support group that meets at Commonwealth every 2nd Wednesday of the month, there is a new drop-in starting for trans and gender-creative children in grade 7 or younger, and their families (siblings welcome)! This group is also for trans and non-binary parents who have children in grade 7 or younger.

What to expect: First hour as collective play/fun time together, second hour will have a facilitated parent support space. While we still want to have open play time, based on feedback we will also have a bit more structured time and games/activities facilitated by trans and genderqueer adults to help children get to know each other.

There will also be snacks! Yum :)

When: 2nd Friday of the Month (starting Dec 9, 2016) from 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Quadra Village Community Centre (901 Kings Road)

Gender Spectacular offers kids space for fun and answers in Victoria

A new youth drop-in for families at Quadra Village Community Centre is a celebration of gender diversity, organizers say. Alyx MacAdams and Kendra Farley began Gender Spectacular as a way to give trans and non-binary gender children who are in Grade 7 and younger a way to play in a safe space with kids like them.
