Ambit consultant and blogger
My name is Lux, and I’ve been living here (specifically on Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ territories) since I was in high school. During this time, I have been a member of UVic Pride in varying capacities for 8+ years, an organizer of the Alt Pride festival and a contributor to a number of local initiatives such as Rock For Reproductive Justice, a variety of youth clinics and a handful of trans peer support groups around town. More recently, I have been working as a youth support worker at the 2-Spirit, Queer and Trans Youth Drop-ins, a co-creator and facilitator of trans- and gender-literacy trainings for staff and faculty of UVic and I’ve just begun a new community organization for trans and non-binary teens with some friends! Otherwise, I can usually be found napping at a beach or spending way too much money at restaurants.
As someone with a fair bit of experience introducing parents to ideas around gender and sexuality, as well as recently having begun my own medical transition, I’m very comfortable having these kinds of conversations with people who are new to the topic. I’m excited to meet and chat with you!
